Brazil’s PPP via PPI, Felipe Montoro Jens

The Brazilian federal government announced the plans to invest R $ 44 billion into the economy, in an effort to stimulate the economy. According to Felipe Montoro Jens, this stimulus will be a 57 project, 22 sector package. The Program of Partnership and Investments (PPI) will be responsible for the implementation and management of the funding and projects. The PPI is a government entity, created to build and cultivate meaningful relationships between public and private sectors, in an effort to maintain lucrative environments optimal for economic growth and job creation. Felipe Montoro Jens, has learned these projects are to include infrastructure projects for highway road construction, airport management changes, and privatizing of currently public enterprises.

Felipe Montoro Jens revealed the government ran airport management company Infraero will be releasing control of Brasilia, Confis (Belo Horizinte), Galeao (Rio de Janeiro), Guarulhos (Sao Paulo), Maceio (AL), Joao Pessoa (PB), Aracaju (SE), Juazeiro do Norte (CE), Campina (PB), Recife (PE), Varzea Grande (MT), Rondonopolis (MT), Alta Floresta (MT), Barra do Garcas (MT), Victoria (ES) and Macae (RJ). Infraero currently controls all the major airports in Brazil and they own 49% of the airports they manage.

There are also plans to implement major road construction projects as part of these 57 projects. According to Felipe Montoro Jens BR 153 the highway connecting Anapolis (GO) and Alianca (TO) is to be completely repaved. BR 364 highway connects Comodoro (MT) and Porto Velho (RO), will also be repaved. Together, the BR 153 and BR 364 is well over 80 kilometers of road.

Felipe Montoro Jens, also revealed as part of this stimulus package of 57 projects the Mint, Ceasaminas, Casemg and Docks of Espirito Santo are all in works to be handed over to the private sectors. Selling the Brazilian Mint, may come as a surprise, because the Mint is responsible for printing currency, passports and other federal documents.
