HSBC AND VIRGIN MONEY CUSTOMERS 'STILL NOT RECEIVED PAY' AFTER PAYMENT ERROR: 'ONLINE BANKING IS DOWN AGAIN!'

HSBC and Virgin Money customers have "still not received pay" after last week's online banking and app outages which saw hundreds being left without their wages and pensions.

Last week, customers of Barclays and Nationwide Building Society were also among customers impacted by widespread errors which reportedly are more-or-less resolved for the majority of those affected.

However, some bank customers are taking to social media to share how they are still waiting for vital payments which are needed to pay bills.

Notably, HSBC and Virgin Money indicated yesterday (July 1) that it was still assisting its customers with getting paid.

Pay.UK, which operates the network that allows digital fast transactions to be sent between banks and building societies within seconds, has confirmed issues resulting in delayed or non-processed payments were fixed last week

Despite this,Virgin Money revealed it was still helping its own customers whose payments had collapsed altogether.

A spokesman for the bank said: “Following the issues with payments across the banking sector on Friday, where some of our customers experienced delays to payments in and out of their account, new payments are now flowing normally, with the backlog cleared over the weekend to resolve delayed payments.

“We’re also supporting a relatively small number of customers whose transactions failed and may need to be requested again.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience and we’re grateful for their patience.”

However, Virgin Money was not the only bank dealing with similar issues in resolving the banking app errors altogether.

HSBC customers shared their frustration on social media over still waiting for payments following last week's banking app outage.

One customer said: “Still not received my pay. All bills gone out today and customer support chat saying you have no pay issues.”

Another messaged the bank: “Your online banking is down again I can't access my account.”

Last week, HSBC confirmed that online banking services were “back up and running” with the payment issue between multiple banks having been resolved.

However, the Big Four firm asked customers to remake a payment if people cannot see it in the recent transactions shown in their accounts.

Alternatively, HSBC encouraged customers to contact the bank if payments have been sent but not received.

A spokeswoman for Pay.UK said: “The network stabilised around noon on Friday and we have continued to monitor the systems closely, with no further evidence of issues.

“In most cases, banks will successfully resubmit those payments that were not processed.

“If customers are still experiencing issues they should contact their bank directly.”

Britons are already at the end of their tether with high street banks following the recent wave of closures.
