JAY SLATER 'MIGHT NOT BE MISSING AT ALL' WITH POLICE TOLD 'TAKE SECOND LOOK'

A new bombshell Jay Slater theory has emerged - as a former police expert claims the apprentice bricklayer might not be missing at all. Graham Wettone, who was a member of the Met for 30 years, claimed the apprentice bricklayer, who has been missing since June 17, may actually need "another look" as Tenerife police call off their search.

Ex-cop Whettone says local law enforcement must question whether there was a third party involved and pursue "criminal" lines of reasoning. Speaking to the MailOnline, ex-cop Graham said: "It seems to me on the face of it that they are just focusing on the mountain, but I would hope they are looking at other avenues and those include criminality.

"I've been following this case closely and discussing it with colleagues and it's certainly a very bizarre one, lots of things just don't add up." Spanish authorities say there is “no current evidence of criminality” in the Jay case after they officially called off the search.

A judicial source, speaking on condition of anonymity as is normal in Spain, said: “There is no evidence of criminality at this stage in this case. That’s not to say things won’t change because the case remains open and investigations are ongoing. But right now that’s the situation.”

The police suspension of the mountain search has been widely interpreted as a sign officers do not think he is in the area in and around the Masca Gorge which they searched with sniffer dogs, mountain rescue experts and a helicopter.

Jay’s family have claimed they believe someone could be holding him against his will, though there is so far no firm evidence to suggest this. His mum Debbie and siblings, as well as dad Warren, have flown to the Canary Islands to help aid the search for the missing teen.
