FIREFIGHTERS SCRAMBLE TO TACKLE MASSIVE BLAZE IN EDINBURGH AS SEVERAL ROADS CLOSED

Firefighters in Edinburgh have rushed to the scene to tackle a massive blaze with images from the scene showing large plumes of smoke filling the sky. Both South Bridge and North Bridge are believed to be blocked, according to Edinburgh Live.

Currently, the full scope of the fire and any potential casualties remains unknown.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed their presence at the scene.

A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.29pm on June 3 of a flat fire at South Bridge.

"Operations control mobilised six pumping appliances to a fire in a first floor flat of a five storey building. Crews remain in attendance."

A resident who was at the scene told Edinburgh Live: "The whole of south bridge is closed and there are about eight fire engines plus dozens of police and ambulances."
