RUSSIA EXPECTED TO SCALE DOWN ATTACKS SOON, CLAIMS UKRAINIAN COMMANDER

The Commander of the Ukrainian National Guard has claimed that Russia will not be able to keep up the scale of its attacks on multiple fronts for long.

Knewz.com has learned that General Oleksandr Pivnenko bet this assumption on the fact that the Russian capabilities "aren't unlimited."

The National Guard Commander believes that it will be a month and a half before Russia lets up simultaneous attacks on multiple fronts in Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the Russian forces have been able to pressurize Ukrainian positions across several key locations with the renewed offensive.

A few weeks prior, Ukrainian marines were forced to retreat from the key bridgehead village of Krynky, on the embattled South bank of the Dnipro River.

While Ukraine has been able to inflict considerable damage on the Russian military presence in the region, both sides were engaged in somewhat of a stalemate in Krynky.

However, a report from state-run media outlets noted that holding their position in Krynky "no longer made sense due to large-scale destruction, and the Defense Forces withdrew to save the lives of fighters."

On the other hand, Vladimir Putin's soldiers have been pushing hard in the Chasiv Yar region, trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses near the city of Pokrovsk.

Not to mention the waves of Russian troops attacking the Kharkiv front, where Ukrainian soldiers have been trying to hold their ground despite invading forces having captured several villages in the region.

Ukrainian National Guard Commander Pivnenko said in his interview with Ukrinform that the embattled nation's forces need to hold their ground for a little longer, following which he expects active Russian assaults to switch to defense.

"The enemy's offensive capabilities are not unlimited, considering the losses they suffer," the General was quoted as saying.

"In another month and a half, they will not be able to conduct active assaults in many directions at once and will switch to defense."

Notably, Russia has been losing troops and war equipment at a significant rate, with Ukrainian forces thwarting one of Russia’s largest mechanized assaults so far, and laying waste to six tanks and seven armored personnel carriers with infantry on board near Donetsk Oblast, in addition to killing at least 40 soldiers.

When the Russian side does let up its assault, General Pivnenko believes that Ukraine should grab that opportunity to prepare its own reserves and armament.

"It is necessary to look for the weak points of the enemy and bypass the strong ones. It is necessary to adapt, change the management model," he added.

He believes that if Ukraine manages to stay one step ahead of Russia in terms of planning, "then everything will be fine."

"The most important thing that can be done now is training, development of training centers, procurement of weapons and military equipment, production of military equipment, drones, armored vehicles, air defense systems, man-portable air defense systems, and ammunition," General Pivnenko told Ukrinform.

In this regard, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal finished an inspection of the army fortifications in the Kherson region and reported that the constructions were "97% complete."

The Prime Minister added that the government has allotted around $50 million for the fortification project in Kherson.

With the Ukrainian marines having withdrawn from the nearby village of Krynky, Russian forces could use the Dnipro River bridgehead to mount an assault on Kherson—a strategically significant front.
