LIVERPOOL ANNOUNCE TRANSFER AS GOALKEEPER DEPARTS ANFIELD

Liverpool have confirmed that academy goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek has joined Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna on a short loan after signing a new contract extension with the Reds.

Mrozek has penned a new deal with Liverpool before he makes the temporary move to Scandinavia, with the 20-year-old securing the first senior move of his career to date.

The loan will expire in January 2025 but it's believed that Brommapojkarna will have the option to extend the deal should Mrozek make a positive impression.

The Polish stopper joined the Reds in 2020 and is yet to make a senior appearance, although he did feature on the bench during six first-team matches last season.

He made 13 appearances in Premier League 2 as well, keeping five clean sheets as Liverpool finished the 2023/24 campaign in eighth spot.

LIVERPOOL GOALKEEPER SITUATION

Liverpool have already lost one goalkeeper this summer with Adrian departing for Real Betis, while Caoimhin Kelleher could also be on the move as he searches for regular first-team football.

Alisson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia too, although Liverpool will do everything in their power to keep him at Anfield.

As a result, Liverpool may be forced to sign a new stopper this summer, with the Reds still yet to dip into the transfer market to make any new signings for the first team.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Vitezslav Jaros has been promoted to the senior squad after an impressive loan spell with Sturm Graz last season and is expected to be the club's third-choice option.

The young goalkeeper, who was called up by Czechia for Euro 2024, won the domestic double during his short spell with the Austrian club last term.

Liverpool will only add a new goalkeeper to their squad in the coming weeks should either Kelleher or Alisson leave, with the former looking by far the most likely to call time on his Merseyside adventure.
